Pulse Polio Programme: Volunteers’ Training Conducted Ahead of June 28 Immunization Drive

As part of the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme scheduled for June 28, a training programme for volunteers was conducted at Therthally Family Health Centre. The programme was inaugurated by Panchayat President Princy Bobby George. Vice President P.C. Aisha presided over the function.

Health Standing Committee Chairperson Vatsamma Vanissery, Medical Officer Dr. E.V. Seemi, Health Inspector Rajesh Prashanthiyil, Health Nurse Bindu Joseph, and K. Nidheesh addressed the gathering. Junior Public Health Nurse Bindu Joseph led an awareness class for the participants.

Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and volunteers took part in the training programme. A total of 1,190 children below five years of age will be administered the polio vaccine drops. For this purpose, 24 polio vaccination booths have been arranged. Training was provided to 48 volunteers.

The programme is being organized under the leadership of the Alakode Grama Panchayat and the Family Health Centre.
